We're building Typscool to make typography easier for everyone. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

1. What We Collect

A. When You Use the App

Typscool currently doesn't require an account. The app works entirely in your browser, and your configurations are stored locally on your device using localStorage. We don't collect or store this data on our servers.

B. When You Submit Feedback

We use Userback (a third-party feedback tool) to collect feedback. When you submit feedback, we collect:

Name - Required by the app
Email address - Required by the app
Feedback text - Your comments and suggestions
Screenshots - Only you can attach the screenshots
Screen recordings - Video of your session (if you record)
Browser information - Browser type, version, and operating system
Page URL - Where you submitted feedback from
Console logs - Technical data for debugging (if errors occur)

Important: Feedback data in Userback is stored for only 7 days (free tier limitation). We separately save your email in Brevo or Google Sheets for reference purposes only. These emails from feedback submissions are NOT used for marketing, newsletters, or exclusive offers.

C. When You Join the Waitlist

When you join our waitlist via Brevo forms, we collect:

Email address - To send you launch updates and exclusive offers

Brevo is GDPR-compliant and securely stores your email.

D. Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website and app. This includes page views, traffic sources, and general usage patterns. We don't collect personally identifiable information through analytics.

2. How We Use Your Data

Feedback Emails (from Userback)

To respond to your feedback and fix bugs
For reference purposes only (stored in Brevo/Google Sheets)
NOT used for marketing or exclusive offers

Waitlist Emails (from Brevo)

To send launch announcements
To provide exclusive early access and premium features
To keep you updated on major features and improvements

You can unsubscribe anytime. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Future Use of Emails

If we introduce user accounts in the future, waitlist emails may be used to grant exclusive benefits and lifetime premium access. You'll be notified before any such changes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use these trusted third-party services:

Userback - Feedback collection tool (GDPR & CCPA compliant, SOC 2 Type II certified)
Brevo - Email marketing and waitlist management (GDPR compliant)
Google Analytics - Website analytics
Google Fonts - Font integration (you download fonts directly from Google)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them:

4. What We DON'T Do

We don't sell your data. Ever. Period.
We don't share your email with third parties, marketers, or anyone else (except the services mentioned above for functionality).
We don't spam. Waitlist emails only receive Typscool-related updates.
We don't use feedback emails for marketing. Only waitlist subscribers receive promotional content.
We don't track you across websites. Our analytics only monitor Typscool usage.

5. Data Storage & Security

App Configurations: Stored locally in your browser (localStorage). We don't have access to this data.
Feedback Data: Stored in Userback for 7 days, then automatically deleted. Emails stored separately in Brevo/Google Sheets.
Waitlist Emails: Stored securely in Brevo with industry-standard encryption.
Security: All services we use employ encryption and follow best security practices.

6. Your Rights

You're in control. You can:

Access: Request what data we have about you
Delete: Request deletion of your email from our records
Unsubscribe: Stop receiving emails anytime (unsubscribe link in every email)
Opt-out: Disable cookies and analytics in your browser settings
Correct: Update or correct your information

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use:

Local Storage: To save your typography configurations in your local drive
Cookies: For Google Analytics to understand site usage

You can delete files from local storage and disable cookies in your browser settings anytime.

8. Children's Privacy

Typscool is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

9. International Users

If you're accessing Typscool from outside your region, your data may be transferred to and processed in locations where our services operate. By using Typscool, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

As Typscool evolves, this privacy policy might change. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you about major changes via email (if you're on the waitlist).

11. Donation & Payment Information

If you choose to support Typscool through donations, here's how we handle your payment information:

A. Payment Processing

Third-Party Processors: All donations are processed through PayPal or Stripe. We never directly handle or store your credit card information, bank details, or payment credentials.
What We Receive: We only receive confirmation of successful transactions, including transaction ID, amount donated, and date/time. Your full payment details remain with the payment processor.
Security: PayPal and Stripe are PCI-DSS compliant and use industry-standard encryption to protect your financial information.

B. Data Collected During Donations

When you donate, we may receive:

Transaction Details: Transaction ID, amount, currency, date/time
Email Address: Provided by the payment processor (if included with transaction)
Name: As provided to PayPal/Stripe (optional, depending on payment method)

We do NOT collect: Credit card numbers, CVV codes, bank account numbers, or any direct payment credentials.

C. How We Use Donation Data

To confirm and verify transactions
To process refund requests (if applicable)
To maintain financial records for accounting purposes
NOT for marketing: Donation emails are not added to our marketing lists unless you separately join our waitlist

D. Data Retention

Transaction records are retained for accounting and legal purposes. If you request deletion of your donation data, we may retain minimal information required by law or financial regulations.

F. Security Warning

⚠️ Protect Yourself: Only donate through official links on typscool.com or app.typscool.com. We will never request donations via unverified email, social media, or unauthorized websites. If you encounter suspicious donation requests, report them to ashishbiz@pm.me.
